Vantage Launches a New Documentation Site with AI Assistance
Vantage docs are now smarter, faster, and AI-enabled with built-in MCP support.

Today, Vantage is announcing the launch of a new documentation site. This upgrade makes the Vantage documentation not only more intuitive to navigate, but also adds built-in AI support, including a Vantage Docs MCP server to help answer questions about Vantage features and an AI search assistant.
Until now, the Vantage documentation was maintained using Docusaurus, a static site generator frequently used by the open-source community. While this gave Vantage a simplified, fast option for providing users with comprehensive documentation, the site was ultimately static. Our docs couldn’t keep up with how engineers and FinOps practitioners increasingly lean on AI assistants and automation to guide their workflows. At Vantage, we view documentation as an extension of the product itself, so investing in a more intelligent platform ensures that our docs meet the same standard of quality as the product they support.
Powered by Mintlify, the Vantage documentation is not only a more modern platform for serving our content, it also provides new features focused on AI, including:
- Embedded AI search assistant that can summarize Vantage features or propose answers to specific use cases. The agent also provides links to related documentation pages.
- Large Language Model (LLM)-optimized formatting, so AI tools can query any page as context for prompts. You can also export structured Markdown with one click to use with AI platforms.
- The new Vantage Docs MCP lets you search the Vantage documentation using AI tools, like Claude or Cursor. The Vantage Docs MCP can be paired with the Vantage MCP for an even more robust experience.
These three new AI capabilities result in a faster and more dynamic way for customers to find answers and learn about new features.
This site is now live to all users at docs.vantage.sh. For information on how to get started with the Vantage Docs MCP, see the setup guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is being launched today?
Today, Vantage is launching a new documentation experience. The new site includes AI-native features, such as context-aware AI search assistance, LLM-optimized formatting, and an MCP integration.
2. Who is the customer?
The customer is any Vantage user who relies on documentation to understand and implement Vantage. Developers in particular will benefit from AI-native documentation that integrates directly with MCP, as will any customers that use AI tools to directly query docs.
3. Did the API docs move as well?
No. The Vantage API documentation remains at https://vantage.readme.io. The migration covers product documentation, Vantage University, and the Product Changelog.
4. Why did you migrate the site?
We migrated because our old docs were static and couldn’t support AI-driven workflows. Mintlify gives us an AI-native, docs-as-code platform with built-in assistance and MCP support.
5. What new AI features does this site have?
- Contextual AI assistant: Ask questions directly in the docs and receive real-time, context-aware answers.
- MCP server generation: Spin up a documentation MCP server that allows AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude) to query the Vantage docs directly.
- One-click export: At the top of any docs page, click the Copy page button and copy structured Markdown to AI platforms for contextual interaction.
See the video below for a demo on how to use these features.
6. How does the Vantage Docs MCP relate to the Vantage MCP?
The Vantage MCP connects your AI tools directly to your Vantage account for live FinOps data analysis. The Vantage Docs MCP connects your AI tools directly to the product documentation to answer any questions you may have about how to use Vantage. Together, these two MCPs enable workflows, like asking your AI assistant, “Show me the top 10 untagged resources from my account and explain how to fix tagging in Vantage.” The assistant can query your account via the Vantage MCP, and it can then pull step-by-step guidance from the Vantage Docs MCP.
7. How much does this new documentation experience cost?
The new AI-powered documentation is free and remains publicly available at https://docs.vantage.sh.
8. Does this affect existing bookmarks or links?
No. All existing links to docs.vantage.sh should continue to work, with redirects in place where necessary.
