Frequently asked questions

Do your plan prices include local tax?
No, the prices listed are in US Dollars and do not include local tax.

What AWS resources do you support?
Vantage can show accrued costs for 100% of service costs and per-resource costs. For point-in-time run-rates and accrued costs of active resources we maintain a list of supported AWS services in our documentation which can be found here.

One of my AWS services isn't supported for point-in-time run run-rates, will you add support?
Likely yes. Please contact us at support@vantage.sh to get more details. We often add support for new services for free in under a week but would like to understand your use-cases.

Will you support other Cloud Providers like Google, Azure, DigitalOcean and Heroku?
Yes, eventually. We are looking at Azure support for Q4, 2021 as a first step. Please contact support@vantage.sh with what clouds you'd like access to and we can inform you first before support for them is formally announced.

Will Vantage cause my AWS account to incur any charges?
We have gone to great lengths to ensure we do not cause any additional costs for your AWS account, regardless of scale. That being said, Vantage does leverage Cost Explorer APIs that have a cost of $0.01 per API call that are only called when you view accrued costs on the Vantage console. As a result, our customers typically see less than $1 of additional charges per month. We are working with AWS to try and remove this charge in the future.

What happens if my AWS costs exceed my current tier?
If your account's costs exceed your current tier, access to cost data will be obscured in the Vantage console until you upgrade your plan.

Do you offer a free trial?
We do offer a free trial upon sign-up. Note that certain features will be inaccessible during the free trial but you're free to upgrade at any point.

I represent a company with significantly higher costs than what is listed here publicly - can you support that?Yes. We are currently supporting customers with millions of dollars of monthly AWS costs.

What payment methods are accepted?
We accept credit cards and AWS Marketplace subscriptions as payment methods. MasterCard, Visa and American Express are all accepted and all credit card payments are processed through Stripe.

Can I change my payment method from Stripe to AWS Marketplace? Yes, but please email support@vantage.sh to process this.

When will my card be charged?

Vantage offers monthly subscriptions. You will be charged when you first sign up to a paid plan, and that will become your monthly renewal date.

How did you determine your prices?
Our prices are meant to be "no brainer" prices for the amount of time you'll be saving using Vantage. In general, we have heard from users that we save them multiple hours per month.

What happens if I upgrade from Pro to Business?
Your credit card will be immediately charged for the prorated difference between the Pro and Business tiers remaining on your subscription term. At the next subscription term, you'll begin to be charged the full Business tier price.

What happens when I cancel my paid plan (downgrade to Starter)?
When you cancel your plan, your subscription will remain in effect until the end of the current subscription term. At the end of that term, your account will automatically downgrade to Starter and no further charges will occur.

I have many (10+) AWS accounts, does Vantage support that?
Yes. Whether you have 1 AWS account or 100+, Vantage onboarding takes a few minutes. For customers with many AWS accounts, we provide a CloudFormation StackSet template for onboarding any number of AWS accounts automatically with no additional action needed from you.

I'd like to start with a test account then add others over time, is this possible?
Yes. You can add or remove AWS accounts at your discretion from your account settings page at any time.
