Vantage Launches Support for Deepgram Costs
Track Deepgram voice AI costs by model, API key, and tag alongside your broader cloud and AI infrastructure.

Today, Vantage is launching support for Deepgram costs, giving customers the ability to track voice AI spend alongside the rest of their cloud and AI providers. Once connected, Vantage automatically imports daily Deepgram costs by model, API key, and tag for each connected project, allowing customers to monitor speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and voice agent spend, set budgets, detect anomalies, and allocate Deepgram costs in Cost Reports and Virtual Tags.
Deepgram is a voice AI platform that provides speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and voice agent APIs to more than 5,000 organizations, which use it to power real-time transcription, contact center workflows, and conversational agents in their products. Previously, Deepgram spend lived in the Deepgram Console, one project at a time, separate from the cloud and AI providers that make up the rest of a team's AI budget. This made it harder to see which models, API keys, and customers were driving voice AI costs, and to include Deepgram in the same reports and allocation rules used for everything else.
Now, with Deepgram cost support in Vantage, customers connect a Deepgram project with a project API key, and Vantage brings in the USD costs Deepgram reports for that project to display alongside their other infrastructure and AI costs. Costs are broken down by line item, such as Nova-3 (Stream), and enriched with Managed AI Tags for the model and API key, so teams can compare Deepgram models with other AI providers in the same report. Deepgram request and API key tags carry through as well. For example, a company that serves many customers from a single Deepgram project can tag each customer's usage in Deepgram, then use Virtual Tags to allocate voice AI spend by customer or team. Customers can include Deepgram costs in Cost Reports, Budgets, Anomaly Detection, and more.
The Deepgram integration is now available to all Vantage customers. To connect, go to the Integrations page in account settings and select Deepgram. You can learn more via the Deepgram section in Vantage's documentation.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is being launched today?
Vantage is launching native support for Deepgram costs. Customers can connect a Deepgram project with a project API key so Vantage automatically imports daily Deepgram costs by line item, model, API key, and tag, and surfaces them alongside the rest of their cloud and AI costs.
2. Who has access to this integration?
The Deepgram integration is available to all Vantage customers across all subscription tiers.
3. How much does this integration cost?
There is no additional fee for using the integration. However, Deepgram costs will be included in quota tier enforcement. If your Deepgram costs push you over your current tier limit, you may be prompted to upgrade. See the Pricing page for details.
4. How do I set up the integration?
Create an API key in the Deepgram project you want to connect, then add it in Vantage:
- In the Deepgram Console, select the project from the Projects menu, select Settings, and open API Keys.
- Create a new API key with the Admin or Owner role, and copy it. Deepgram only shows the key once.
- In Vantage, go to the Integrations page in account settings and select Deepgram.
- Paste the key into the API Key field, enter a Description to identify the project, and click Connect Account.
Vantage checks that the key can read billing for exactly one project before it begins importing costs. To connect another project, click Add Another API Key and repeat these steps with a key from that project.
5. What permissions are required on the Deepgram side?
You need a Deepgram project API key with the Admin or Owner role, both of which include the billing:read permission. Member keys can't read billing and will be rejected. See Deepgram's roles and permissions documentation for details.
6. What permissions are needed within Vantage?
You must have a Vantage Owner or Integration Owner role to add or remove the Deepgram integration.
7. What permissions does Vantage have in my Deepgram account?
Deepgram does not currently support a read-only billing role for API keys; Admin and Owner keys also include permissions to manage the project, its keys, and its members. Vantage only reads project and billing data from Deepgram's billing breakdown API, and will never send speech or agent requests, change your Deepgram project, or perform any other actions.
8. What dimensions can Deepgram costs be filtered and grouped by?
Deepgram costs support aggregating and filtering on:
- Account (the Description provided when connecting)
- Service (the Deepgram line item, such as
Nova-3 (Stream)) - Category (the request type, such as streaming, or add-on for features like keyterm prompting and multichannel)
- Subcategory (the Deepgram deployment, such as hosted)
- Resource (the Deepgram API key ID)
- Charge Type (Usage)
- Tags, including your Deepgram request and API key tags (such as
prod) anddeepgram:deployment - Managed AI Tags (model, such as
nova-3, model provider, and API key ID)
9. Can I view usage data for Deepgram?
No, Deepgram does not report usage quantities at this time.
10. How are credits, discounts, and tax handled?
Vantage imports the USD amounts Deepgram reports for your usage in its billing breakdown. Prepaid credit balances, such as promotional or Growth plan credits, are not subtracted from these costs, and tax is not included. Days with no charges are not imported.
11. Are there Active Resources for Deepgram?
No. Active Resources are not available for Deepgram.
12. How often does Deepgram data refresh in the Vantage console?
Deepgram data refreshes daily in the Vantage console. During the first five days of each month, Vantage also refreshes the previous month so late-arriving charges are captured.
13. How far back will the data go?
On initial connection, Vantage imports historical Deepgram costs within your account's data retention period, subject to the history available from Deepgram.
14. Can I connect multiple Deepgram projects?
Yes. Each Deepgram API key belongs to a single project, so connect each project with its own API key and Description. Each project can only be connected once; to rotate a key, remove the existing connection and connect again with the new key.
15. What happens if I remove the Deepgram integration?
If you remove your Deepgram integration from Vantage, all associated costs will be removed from the Vantage console. Removing the integration does not delete the API key in Deepgram; delete it in the Deepgram Console if it's no longer needed.
16. Does Vantage store audio, transcripts, or prompts?
No. Vantage only imports billing data, such as costs by line item, API key, and tag. It does not access audio, transcripts, or agent conversations.
