Vantage Launches Support for Cartesia Costs
Track Cartesia voice AI costs across model capabilities and Line agents, measured in credits and minutes, alongside your broader cloud and AI infrastructure.

Today, Vantage is announcing support for Cartesia cost and usage data, giving customers the ability to track voice AI spend alongside the rest of their cloud and AI providers. Once connected, Vantage brings in daily credit usage by capability and Line agent spend, so teams can monitor consumption, set budgets, catch anomalies, and allocate Cartesia costs in Cost Reports and Virtual Tags.

Cartesia is a voice AI platform used for real-time speech generation, transcription, and hosted Line agents. Teams that use Cartesia in products, support workflows, or voice agents often run it alongside cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure. Historically, customers had to review that spend siloed in the Cartesia console or piece it together alongside cloud providers with the Custom Provider integration in Vantage. That made it harder to catch credit spikes, reconcile agent minutes to dollars, or include Cartesia in the same Virtual Tags, Budgets, and Anomaly Detection used for the rest of their spend.
Now, customers grant Vantage read access with a Cartesia Admin API key, and Vantage will automatically ingest their costs to display alongside their infrastructure and AI costs. They can break costs down by capability (like text to speech), Line agents, and credits versus agent usage, and fold Cartesia into the allocation model they already use with Cost Reports and Virtual Tags. Instead of bouncing between the Cartesia console and Vantage or maintaining a Custom Provider integration, teams get one place to watch voice AI spend, catch changes early, and keep ownership clear.
The Cartesia integration is now available to all Vantage customers. To connect, go to the Integrations page in account settings and select Cartesia. To learn more, visit the connecting Cartesia documentation.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is being launched today?
Vantage is launching native support for Cartesia cost and usage data. Customers can connect Cartesia with an Admin API key so Vantage can ingest daily credit usage by capability and Line agent spend, and surface both in Cost Reports.
2. Who has access to this integration?
This integration is available to all Vantage customers across all subscription tiers.
3. How much does this integration cost?
There is no additional fee for using the integration. Cartesia costs count toward quota tier enforcement. If Cartesia spend pushes you over your current tier limit, you may be prompted to upgrade. See the Pricing page for details.
4. How does the integration work?
Vantage uses a Cartesia Admin API key to call Cartesia’s credit usage and agent usage endpoints. After you connect, Vantage imports historical data within your account retention window and refreshes costs on a daily schedule.
Two streams are imported:
- Credits — daily credit consumption grouped by capability (for example, Text-to-Speech). Usage is reported in credits. Dollar
amountis populated only when you configure a matching credit rate on the integration. - Line agents — daily spend from agent usage, with
amountin USD (cents / 100) and usage in minutes.
Standard generation keys cannot access these usage routes, so Vantage requires the use of an Admin API key.
5. What permissions are required on the Cartesia side?
You need a Cartesia organization admin who can create an Admin API key at play.cartesia.ai/keys/admin.
6. What permissions are needed within Vantage?
You must have a Vantage Owner or Integration Owner role to add or remove the Cartesia integration and update credit rates.
7. What permissions does Vantage have in my Cartesia account?
Vantage has read-only access to usage data via the Admin API key you provide. Vantage only calls the usage endpoints and does not create voices, run generation requests, or perform actions that incur costs.
8. What dimensions can Cartesia costs be filtered and grouped by?
Cartesia reports support aggregating and filtering on:
- Account (the connection description you enter when connecting)
- Service (capability label or ID for credit rows, such as
Text-to-Speech;Line agentsfor agent rows) - Category (
CreditsorAgents) - Charge Type (
Usage)
9. Can I view usage data for Cartesia?
Yes. Model usage (for example, text to speech) is reported in credits. Line agent usage is reported in minutes. If you set a credit rate for the relevant dates, Vantage also shows a usage rate and USD amount for that credit usage.
10. How do credit-to-USD rates work?
By default, credit rows have empty dollar amounts because Cartesia’s usage API returns credits, not USD, and Vantage does not invent a public or allotment unit price. To convert credits to dollars, open the Cartesia integration settings and choose a negotiated rate mode. Enter USD per 1,000 credits, optionally with inclusive start and end dates for a schedule. Dates without a matching rate remain unrated. Line agent rows always use Cartesia’s cents values and are not affected by credit rates.
11. Are there Active Resources for Cartesia?
No. Active Resources are not available for Cartesia at launch.
12. How often does Cartesia data refresh in the Vantage console?
Cartesia data refreshes daily in the Vantage console.
13. How far back will the data go?
On initial connection, Vantage imports historical costs within your account’s configured retention period. Cartesia’s usage API allows windows up to one year; Vantage respects your account retention setting.
14. What happens if I remove the Cartesia integration?
If you remove the Cartesia integration, associated costs are removed from the Vantage console for that connection.
15. What happens if my Admin API key is revoked or invalid?
Vantage will no longer retrieve new billing data. Previously imported costs remain until you remove the integration. Reconnect with a new Admin API key to resume imports.
16. Can I have multiple Cartesia integrations?
Yes. You can connect multiple Cartesia Admin API keys as separate integrations, each with its own description and optional credit rate schedule.
17. Does Vantage store audio, transcripts, or prompts?
No. Vantage only ingests billing metadata—credit counts, agent cents/minutes/calls, and transformed cost rows. No audio, transcript, or prompt content is ingested.
18. Does this cover Cartesia usage billed through another cloud?
No. This integration covers usage billed through Cartesia and reported by Cartesia’s usage APIs for the connected Admin API key.
