Vantage Launches Support for Anthropic Costs
Track Claude model usage and costs alongside your other providers.

Today, Vantage announces the general availability of Anthropic costs support, giving customers the ability to track Claude model usage and costs directly in Vantage. Customers can enable the integration under General Settings and Integrations in the navigation sidebar in the Vantage console by providing an Anthropic Admin API key. Once connected, Vantage automatically ingests Anthropic’s usage and cost data, allowing customers to monitor token consumption, set budgets, detect anomalies, and allocate Claude costs alongside their broader cloud infrastructure.

Previously, Vantage customers relied on manually intensive Custom Provider uploads of Anthropic data that stitched together Anthropic console exports, logs, or invoices to approximate model usage and cost. This slowed down chargebacks, obscured model-level optimization opportunities, and made it hard to catch spend spikes in time.
Now, with the launch of Anthropic cost support in Vantage, customers can grant Vantage access to their Anthropic organization by creating an Admin API key in the Anthropic console. This key allows Vantage to retrieve detailed usage and cost reports, including token counts by model, workspace, API key, and service tier. For example, customers can see how much Claude usage is attributable to specific teams via workspace IDs, track the impact of prompt caching through cached token counts, and reconcile costs across API keys for different products or environments.
The Anthropic integration is now available to all Vantage customers. To connect, go to the Integrations page in account settings and select Anthropic. You can learn more via the new Anthropic section in Vantage’s documentation.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is being launched today?
Vantage is launching native support for Anthropic cost and usage data. Customers can now connect Anthropic via an Admin API key, enabling automatic ingestion and visibility of Claude usage and costs in Vantage.
2. Who has access to this integration?
The Anthropic integration is available to all Vantage customers, across all subscription tiers.
3. How much does this integration cost?
There is no additional fee for using the integration. However, Anthropic costs will be included in quota tier enforcement. In the event that your Anthropic costs push you over your current tier limit, you may be prompted to upgrade. To see more details on pricing, please refer to the Pricing page.
4. How does the integration work?
Vantage uses an Admin API key to ingest consumption through the Usage and Cost API. After authorizing Vantage access to your Anthropic account, Vantage will begin ingesting data from the Usage and Cost API, which provides structured cost data broken down by operation (e.g., Input Token Cache Writes or Output Tokens) and model (e.g., Claude Sonnet 4).
5. What permissions are required on the Anthropic side?
You need to be an Organization Admin to generate the Admin API key in the Anthropic console. You also must be set up as an Anthropic Organization, not a standalone account. It’s best practice to use a dedicated key for Vantage and rotate it per your security policy.
6. What permissions are needed within Vantage?
You must have a Vantage Owner or Integration Owner role to add or remove the Anthropic integration.
7. What permissions does Vantage have in my Anthropic account?
Vantage does not have the ability to perform any actions that incur costs. However, Anthropic requires an Admin API key to access the Usage and Cost API. This key includes additional permissions beyond what Vantage uses (see the full list of permissions here). Vantage only reads data from the Usage and Cost endpoint and will never perform any other actions.
All Admin API keys generated through Anthropic have revocable read-write access. Unfortunately, Anthropic does not currently support more fine-grained permissions for Admin keys. We recommend customers submit a feature request to Anthropic for improved permission scoping, and Vantage will adopt fine-grained permissions if this becomes available.
8. What dimensions can Anthropic costs be filtered and grouped by?
Anthropic reports can support aggregating and filtering on the following dimensions:
- Billing Account (Organization)
- Account (Workspace)
- Service (e.g., Claude Sonnet 4, Claude Opus 4.1)
- Category (e.g., tokens, web_search)
- Subcategory (e.g., cache_read_input_tokens, output_tokens)
- Resource ID (Model Version—e.g., claude-sonnet-4-20250514, claude-3-5-haiku-20241022)
- Charge Type (Usage)
- API Key ID (Available as a tag
anthropic:api_key
)
9. Can I view Usage data for Anthropic?
Yes, usage data is available for models, measured in tokens.
10. Are there Active Resources for Anthropic?
No, there are no Active Resources to monitor for Anthropic.
11. How often does Anthropic data refresh in the Vantage console?
Anthropic data refreshes daily in the Vantage console.
12. What happens if I remove an Anthropic integration?
If you decide to remove your Anthropic integration from Vantage, all associated costs will be removed from the Vantage console associated with that Anthropic Admin key.
13. How far back will the data go?
The integration will fetch historical data up to your account’s configured retention period.
14. Does Vantage store prompt or response content?
No. Vantage only stores billing metadata (i.e., token consumption). No user content (prompts or responses) is ingested.
15. If I host my Claude usage on a cloud, such as Amazon Bedrock, does this integration still work?
No, you must be using Claude through Anthropic in order to use this integration.
