Vantage Launches Audit Logs for Tracking Platform Changes

Today, Vantage is launching Audit Logs for actions taken on the Vantage platform, providing customers with a traceable history of events happening through the Vantage Console, API, and Terraform Provider. With this launch, users can now view a complete log of create, update, and destroy events for Virtual Tags and Cost Reports.

Audit Logs for Cost Reports and Virtual Tags are now available within Settings

Previously, customers had no visibility into who modified Virtual Tag configurations or adjusted settings of saved Cost Reports, leaving teams unaware of changes when troubleshooting unexpected results or reconciling reports. Teams often had to resort to tribal knowledge or contact Vantage Support for insights into what changes occurred and who triggered the event.

Now, with Audit Logs, every interaction is recorded and queryable for reconciliation, starting with Virtual Tags and Cost Reports. Customers can view their Audit Logs within a new section of the Settings portion of the Console. All create, update, and destroy events for Cost Reports and Virtual Tags will be present in the logs. The logs can also be filtered based on event type (create, update, destroy), user, date, object type (Cost Report or Virtual Tag), and source (Vantage Console or API). Users can also directly access Audit Logs for a Cost Report or Virtual Tag to be brought to an Audit Log filtered for that resource.

Audit Logs are available today and visible to all users with the “Owner” role. To get started, visit the Audit Logs page in Settings. For details on how to retrieve and interpret logs, visit the Audit Logs documentation.
