Vantage Launches Remediation Steps for Cost Recommendations

Today, Vantage is launching Remediation Steps within Cost Recommendations. Now, when viewing a Cost Recommendation you will see detailed context and clear, actionable steps to remediate the issue, such as CLI commands or instructions specific to the provider’s console.

A cost recommendation with remediation steps, including links to additional resources and a CLI command.

Previously, teams viewing cost recommendations in the Vantage console could see what the recommendations were (e.g., an idle resource or underutilized service), but were left to figure out how to address them on their own. This often meant forwarding recommendations to owners without clear instructions on what to do, or leaving the Vantage console to search external documentation.

Now, with the launch of Remediation Steps within Cost Recommendations, customers receive clear guidance on how to implement recommendations. When viewing recommendations for individual resources on an Active Resource page, or for multiple resources on a Recommendation Resource Report, users receive detailed descriptions of recommendations alongside tailored remediation workflows specific to the provider and recommendation type. These remediation workflows include steps for using the provider’s CLI or console to remedy. When CLI commands are provided, users can copy these commands—which include exact resource ARNs when viewing an individual resource—and implement recommendations immediately. This closes the loop between detection and action, helping teams convert insights into savings more quickly.

This enhancement is now live for all customers. To see remediation steps in action, visit any Recommendation Resource Report or recommendation tab within Active Resources. For more information, review our Cost Recommendations documentation.
